Your first login and a tour of the dashboard
Sign in as the administrator, find your way around the dashboard and side menu, and check which session and campus you are working in.
This article walks you through your first sign-in as the administrator and explains what you see on the dashboard. Read it before you start setting anything up, so you know where each part of the setup lives.
Before you start
- You need the administrator ID and password sent to you when your account was created.
- Use a current desktop browser for setup work. The dashboard works on a phone, but the setup screens are easier on a larger screen.
- Staff, students and families sign in on their own login pages with their own IDs. This article covers the administrator login only.
Steps
- Open the administrator login page and you will see Administrator Login.
- Enter your Administrator ID and Password, then click Sign in As Administrator.
- You land on the Dashboard. The tiles across the top show live counts for Active Students, Active Staff, Families and Transportee.
- Scroll down to see today's activity: Today Fee Collection, Today Expenses, Today Admissions and Today Withdrawl, followed by fee balances, defaulters, salary figures and lists such as upcoming birthdays and the most absent students in the last 7 days.
- Look at the top of the side menu. Under your campus name you will see the working session. This is the academic session your screens are showing right now.
- To look at a different academic session, open your user menu at the top of the screen, find Academic Sessions and pick the session you want.
- Open My Profile from the same user menu. On the Settings tab you can change your password under Change Password. Do this on your first login.
Finding your way around the side menu
The side menu lists one entry per module, for example Students, HR / Staff, attendance, fees and exams. Click a module to open its sub-menu. As the administrator you also see three setup menus near the bottom:
| Menu | What you do there |
|---|---|
| Settings | Campus Settings, Branches (when switched on), Student Regions, Parent Professions, Nearby Institutes, Auto Notifications and promotion tools. |
| Team Management | Create team user accounts, set their permissions, and review the Activity Log. |
| Configurations | Shared lists such as Departments, Staff Designations, Pay Scales, Student Categories, Sections and Concession Types. |
If your account has a single campus you also see Global Options, which holds Sessions.
Good to know
- The figures on the dashboard follow the working session. If numbers look wrong, check which session you are in first.
- Some menu entries show a lock badge. That module or feature is not part of your current plan. Explore Features in the side menu shows what is available on other plans.
- Team users only see the modules and screens their permissions allow. If you do not see this option, it may not be included in your plan or your role may not have permission; ask your administrator.
- Your dashboard layout can be changed. In Settings > Campus Settings, open the Customizations tab and choose a Dashboard Template.
- Update Log in the side menu lists recent product changes. A "new" badge appears there after an update.
Common questions
I forgot my administrator password. What do I do?
The administrator login page does not have a self-service reset link. Contact support through your usual channel and they will help you regain access.
Why does a team member see fewer menus than I do?
The administrator sees everything included in your plan. Every other user sees only what you have granted them under Team Management.
For an overview, see the administrator role.
